Adult Protective Services
Adult Protective Services (APS) investigates reports of suspected abuse, neglect,
and exploitation of vulnerable adults living in the community.
Reports may be made by anyone.
When a report is received, APS investigates.
If the report is confirmed and the person is willing to accept help,
APS will identify and put in place services that can help the vulnerable person.

Community Resource Council
The Community Resource Council is a non-profit active alliance of agencies and individuals
with a commitment to promoting the health and well-being of the people of Bergen County, New Jersey.
The Helpline Service—Information and Referral Service of Bergen County—is one of its major programs.
The Helpline is the ONLY free, comprehensive,
confidential and computerized county-wide information and referral service guiding
those in need of assistance to the resources available.
Information is provided in English and Spanish on a number of services: health care for senior citizens,
drug and alcohol counseling, help for the disabled, unemployment assistance,
services for working parents, legal and financial assistance, emergency food and shelter, and much more.
The Helpline database contains information on more than 2,500 health and human service resources
and programs available to those who live or work in Bergen County.

Division of Senior Services
The Bergen County Division of Senior Services advocates for adults over age 60.
It is a planning, coordinating and funding agency for senior programs and services.
The Division's Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) provides information,
assistance and care management coordination. The ADRC Education and Outreach Unit
is the primary access point to the many services and facilities available
to residents age 60 and over and their caregivers.
Help is also provided for individuals with disabilities who are over age 18.
Services include a Help Line with information on housing, Social Security, Medicare, food stamps and activity centers.
Help is provided in completing forms for half-fare transportation, Senior Citizens Identification Cards and insurance.
There is information on nutrition sites providing meals for seniors, including special diet meal delivery.
