Established in 1950, the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics [IAGG] (until 2004, the International Association of Gerontology) has 70 member organizations worldwide with a combined membership of over 45,100. IAG is a non-governmental organization [NGO] with consultative status with the Economic and Social Council [ECOSOC] of the United Nations [UN].
