The multidisciplinary Center for Child Protection [CCP] at Children's Hospital, founded in 1976, offers many programs that provide for the prevention, identification, treatment and rehabilitation of neglected and abused children using medical social and therapeutic approaches. Special focus is placed upon evidentiary, prevention and specialized support programs for victims. There are 180 staff members.

The Philadelphia Child and Family Therapy Training Center is internationally recognized as a leader in the teaching of ecosystemic, short-term structural family therapy. Founded as the family Therapy Training Center of the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic in 1975 by Salvador Minuchin, MD, developer of Structural Family Therapy, the Center has trained hundreds of mental health and other human service professionals in the practice of family therapy, examining ecologically the home, school and community environments for those elements of strength that can be mobilized for creating positive, sustained change.

The Center offers distance education as well as in-house courses and workshops.
